Suture Removal at Home
After a procedure, the doctor will give you instructions on suture removal. Use tweezers to lift the suture off the skin and small cuticle or nose hair scissors to snip the knots. Then, use the tweezers again to pull the suture out.
If a long running stitch has been placed, it is a good idea to snip the suture in the center, in addition to the knots at either end to make it easier to remove. It is normal for there to be a small amount of pain and/or bleeding with suture removal. Call if the pain or bleeding persists.
Once your sutures are removed, no further wound care needs to be done. If you have any questions or concerns, please call the office at 321-242-8790 ext. 208.
